Special places and events in Pollença: Pollença is a village full of tradition with genuine festivities like the processions Easter, the "Moors and Christians" and the "Patrona" (from July 27 to August 2). Every Sunday morning there is a local market held on the main square. In addition to several art galleries, during summer, there is a wide cultural offer, special mention must be done to the Pollença International Festival of music which brings each summer week some famous orchestra, band or soloist from around the world. Among the main sights of the city, is the hill of Calvary, with its 365-step stairs and the Puig de Maria. Pollença is also the starting point of several beautiful excursions going into the Tramuntana mountains. The famous peninsula Formentor and Port de Pollença (Pollença) also belong to the same municipality, and can be reached by car in just a few minutes.
